A source reveals the cause of Jurgen Klopp and Mohamed Salah's clash.

The clash between Mohamed Salah and Jurgen Klopp took center stage during Liverpool’s draw against West Ham.

Salah’s unexpected behavior, preparing to enter the pitch as a substitute after being benched post-Merseyside derby defeat to Everton, led to a heated exchange with Klopp, moments before West Ham’s equalizer.

Despite Salah being restrained by teammate Darwin Nunez, tensions simmered as they didn’t shake hands at full-time, with Salah being the first to exit the field.

While Klopp tried to downplay the incident in post-match interviews, Salah reignited the dispute with a comment to journalists.

Newly emerged details shed light on the altercation, pinpointing Salah’s refusal to hug Klopp before taking the field as the main catalyst.

A source revealed to The Sun: “This has happened occasionally with Jurgen and other players.

“He is very big on interaction with his subs before they go on and felt it didn’t happen at first with Mo.

“Mo was obviously annoyed at being left out of the team and wasn’t in the best of moods while Jurgen wasn’t happy with his behaviour.

”The source added: “The players were given a couple of days off after the match and are meeting up again on Tuesday.

“It is hoped that by then tensions will have calmed down.”

During the post-match interview, TNT Sports reporter Jules Breach questioned Klopp about the altercation, but his response was revealing.

When asked to elaborate on the exchange between him and Salah, Klopp simply shook his head and replied, “No.”

Klopp added: “But we spoke already in the dressing room, and for me that’s done.

“In a separate interview, another interviewer asked Salah if he considered the incident resolved, to which Salah responded, “Yes, that’s my feeling.”

Mohamed Salah’s contract is set to expire next summer, raising questions about his future at Liverpool under the potential new manager, Arne Slot, who has reached a tentative agreement to replace Klopp.

Klopp’s reluctance to discuss the clash with Salah post-match, coupled with Salah’s warning to the press, “If I speak today there will be fire,” adds to the uncertainty surrounding Salah’s tenure at the club.
